3 MEMBERS OF LEONE STARS FOOTBALL CLUB TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

Captain of Leone Stars, Umaru Bangura, and two other members of the team, Phillip Kor, a fitness coach, and an official, Eric Fomba, have all tested positive for COVID-19.

The result of the players and staff was made known in a statement to newsmen by the Sierra Leone Football Association.

According to the association, the trio contracted COVID-19 while on international duty with the Leone Stars in Niger.

Currently, they are undergoing self-isolation.

Nigeria is to host Sierra Leone in next month’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on November 9, before traveling for the reverse fixture billed for the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown the following week.

The Eagles lead Group L of the qualifiers with the maximum six points, after their opening double victories against Benin and Lesotho.
