FCTA URGES PARK OPERATORS TO ADHERE TO COVID-19 GUIDELINES

F.C.T Administration has warned Park Operators in the territory to ensure strict compliance to COVID-19 guidelines or risk revocation of lease agreement.

The Director, F.C.T Parks and Recreation Department, Hajiya Riskatu Abdulazeez, gave the warning at a meeting with Abuja Park Operators Association.

The Director who said F.C.T Administration observed with dismay how some of the parks visited operated without recourse to the COVID-19 guidelines warned that any park owner caught in violation of the guidelines may have their parks sealed or get their lease agreement withdrawn.

Also speaking, Chairman, F.C.T Ministerial Enforcement Team on COVID-19 Guidelines, Ikharo Attah, said although the Administration is not contemplating another lockdown, enforcement will be strict.

Responding on behalf of other members, a Park Owner, Smart Saeed, appreciated the Director for convening the meeting even as he promised that all that were discussed would be passed down to all their members.

The F.C.T Administration has also directed that the Millennium Park in the City center be shut down all through the period of the yuletide.
