GERNOT ROHR INVITES 23 PLAYERS FOR INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY WITH UKRAINE

 

 

 

 

Technical Adviser to the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has called up 23 players for the international friendly with the senior national team of Ukraine scheduled for the Dnipro Arena, Kiev, on the 10th of September.

The list includes other regular suspects, apart from the team’s top scorer Odion Ighalo whose future is still in doubt after he announced his retirement from the national team at the recently concluded 2019 AFCON tournament.

Germany based goalkeeper Emil Madura Okoye has been called up for the first time as well as Scotland based midfielder Joe Aribo but there is no place for South Africa based keeper Daniel Akpeyi.

Captain Ahmed Musa makes the list alongside England based duo of Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheancho, Semi Ajayi, and defender Tyronne Ebuehi who missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

The full 23-man list is made up of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders, and seven attackers.

Ukraine is rated number 25 on the FIFA World ranking while Nigeria is 33rd.
