MINISTER OF INTERIOR SIGNS DEPORTATION OF TEN EGYPTIANS, SEVEN SRI-LANKANS, AND TWO INDIANS

The Minister of Interior Oregbeni Rauf Agbesola has signed the deportation order of one Mr. Ali Mahamat Taher to France and one Mr. Kasinathan Ramasamy to India.

According to a statement by the deputy comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service Mr. Sunday James, the deportees were found to be involved in activities that violate the conditions of their entry into Nigeria.

Mr. Taher was found to be engaged in activities capable of undermining the security of the nation in Maiduguri, Borno state, while Mr. Ramasamy was found working as a shop attendant in Kano.

In addition, Ten Egyptians that violated the conditions for their entry were also deported by the order of the Minister.

Also, Seven Sri-Lankans that were jailed for petroleum product-related offences after serving their jail terms were ordered by the Court to be deported to their country.

The statement further said In view of the resumption of international flights, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, has directed all migrants in Nigeria to comply fully with the laws guiding their residence and entry.

The general public are advised that all special exemptions granted to migrants due to COVID-19 has elapsed.
