MNJTF RESCUES HOSTAGES FROM BOKO HARAM AND ISWAP CAMPS IN LAKE CHAD

The Multinational Joint Taskforce has rescued women and children kept captives by BOKO HARAM and ISWAP camps.

Chief of Military Public Information, Colonel Mohammed Dole said the troops acted on credible information and the location of the insurgents.

According to him, the troops of Section 2 Chad of the Multinational Joint Taskforce laid an ambush against the insurgents at a vantage location near Barkalam.

During the offensive operation, three canoes were capsized leading to the death and arrest of some terrorists, while others sustained various injuries.

In the aftermath, twelve hostages were successfully rescued.

The rescued persons comprise of one male adult, three women, and eight children, in line with its policy of safe transfer of surrendered insurgents and rescued hostages.

The Headquarters, Multinational Joint Task Force used Helicopters to facilitate their movement from Baga Sola to N’Djamena Chad.
