PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI SWEARS-IN 43 NEW MINISTERS

President Muhammadu Buhari today swore-in 43 new Ministers in an event that culminated in the formal inauguration of a new Federal Executive Council for Buhari’s second tenure in office. The grand ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa In Abuja.

Different portfolios were given to the ministers including Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello who retained his former Portfolio as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA, while Mr. Rotimi Amaechi also retained
his former Portfolio as Minister of Transportation. Mr.Babatunde Fashola is Minister of Works and Housing, while Senator Godswill Akpabio is Minister for Niger Delta, among others.

President Buhari in his remarks urged the new Ministers to remain committed to the ideals of the APC and work in harmony with each other, to achieve the Next Level Agenda of government.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved replacements for heads of Federal Government agencies that were recently appointed as Ministers.

This was contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

According to the statement, Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed has been appointed as the Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, replacing Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouk, while Doctor Chioma Ejikeme has been appointed Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, replacing Miss Sharon O. Ikeazor.

Alhaji Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi is now Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, National Information Technology Development Agency. President Buhari has also forwarded Mr. Adeleke Moronfolu Adewolu’s name to the Senate for confirmation as Executive Commissioner (Stakeholders Management). The statement says the appointments take immediate effect.
