PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI APPOINTS NEW GMD FOR NNPC AND SEVEN CHIEF OPERATING OFFICERS

President Mohammadu Buhari has appointed Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari from the North East. as the new Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari ‘s appointment takes effect from the 7th of July, 2019.

President Buhari has also appointed seven new Chief Operating Officers with effect from 7th of July, 2019.

The new chief operating officers include, Mr. Roland Onoriode Ewubare (South-South) – Chief Operating Officer, Upstream, Engineer Mustapha Yinusa Yakubu (North-Central) – Chief Operating Officer, Refining and Petrochemicals; Engineer Yusuf Usman (North-East) – Chief Operating Officer, Gas and Power; and Ms. Lawrencia Nwadiabuwa Ndupu (South-East) – Chief Operating Officer, Ventures.
5.Others are Mr. Umar Isa Ajiya (North-West)Chief Financial Officer; Engineer Adeyemi Adetunji (South-West) – Chief Operating Officer, Downstream; and . Mr. Farouk Garba Said (North-West) – Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services.

Their appointments take effect from 28th June, 2019.

A statement by the incumbent GMD of the NNPC , Mr Maikanti Baru, say President Buhari has directed that the new appointees work with the current occupants of the various positions between now and 7th July, 2019 towards a smooth transition on 8th July, 2019.
