FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EXTENDS LOCK-DOWN BY FOUR WEEKS

The Federal Government has extended second phase of eased lock-down by four weeks with effect from today 30 to July 27, 2020 and has allowed interstate travel outside curfew hours.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha made this known during the PTF COVID-19 briefing in Abuja.

Mr. Boss Mustapha said the extension has some modifications to the ease of lockdown protocols that allows inter-state travel outside the curfew hours from the first of July.

The second phase of the eased lockdown also allows students in Primary 6, JSS3 and SSS 3 who are taking their final examinations to resume schools.

Mr. Mustapha also added that the safe reopening of domestic flight services will begin as soon as practicable.

He urged States to also take greater care in leading on public health measures in the Local Government Areas under their jurisdiction, by working on surveillance, case finding, testing, isolation, tracing and quarantining contacts.
