BAYELSA UNITED KNOCKTS OUT OF THIS SEASON’S CAF CUP

Bayelsa United have been knocked out of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup following a four zero defeat to CS Sfaxien of Tunisia yesterday. The result meant Bayelsa United was knocked out on a four-one aggregate scoreline after winning the first leg one-zero.

 

The 2021 Nigeria Aiteo Cup champions had made it to the second round of the Confederation Cup after beating Ashanti Gold of Guinea four-two on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Enyimba of Aba who are leading one zero from the first leg will face Diambars of Senegal this evening in the return leg of their second preliminary round game of the competition.

In the CAF Champions League, Nigeria’s representative, Rivers United are guests of Al-Hilal of Sudan with the first leg having ended in a one-one draw. A win for Rivers United will see them qualify for the group stage of the competition while a loss will see them crash to the CAF Confederation Cup playoff stage.
