NIGERIA DECLARES POSITIVE TRANSFORMATION FOR POLAND AND NIGERIA

The newly appointed Nigerian Ambassador to Poland, Major General Christian O. Ugwu (Rtd), has declared Nigeria’s intentions to positively transform the socio-economic landscape of both countries.

Major General Ugwu (Rtd) made the position known while presenting his Letters of Credence to President Andrzej Duda of Poland.

The Nigerian Envoy informed President Duda that the Federal Government is making tremendous progress in key priority areas for the mutual benefit of both nations.

He noted the slow pace of economic activities between the two countries, stating that one of his major mandates is to spur such activities for improved bilateral relations.

He, therefore, sought the support of President Duda in the eradication of all obstacles hindering the flow of investment in the areas of Trade, Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Mining, and Military cooperation.

Ambassador Ugwu expressed admiration for President Duda in bringing about development to Poland.

He applauded his willingness to fully integrate into the European Union in terms of economic development and improving the living standards of Polish citizens.

President Duda in response assured of his Sovereign support to succeed in the discharge of his mandates.

He said he is interested in collaborating with Nigeria in many areas, especially in Agriculture and Defence.

Ambassador Ugwu served the Nigerian Army for 35 years and retired as a Major General in 2013, before being appointed the Ambassador to Poland by President Muhammadu Buhari in July 2020.
